Scary Movie Scared Me Silly!
The Wayans Brothers who brought you “Mo’ Money” “I'm Gonna Git You Sucka,” and “In Living Color” now bring you a thriller-comedy that is guaranteed to shock. "Scary Movie" starring Shannon Elizabeth, who plays a cheerleader named Buffy, Sheri Oteri, who plays a news reporter named Gale Hailstorm and of course the Wayans Brothers. The film is a parody of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Screams 1,2 and 3" not even "The Blair Witch Project" or "The Sixth Sense" have been spared. If you enjoyed “Something about Mary”, “Ace Venture Pet Detective” or anything from the Farrelly Brothers you will love this movie. “Scary Movie” is far from subtle and goes all out in the disgusting department but on the other hand this is also one of the only times I have laughed out loud almost uncontrollably during a movie (the other time was while watching “The Waterboy” with Adam Sandler). It was crude and hilarious all at the same time. The Wayans Brothers really know how to get the audience to laugh, whatever it takes. This movie although strong in the laugh department unfortunately has a very weak plot. Other than the lack of plot it is a great Friday night laugh. A word of warning though, this movie is intended for teenagers and adults. Lets just say that the Scream movies were scary as hell, and this one is funny as hell!
